“After 20 years of creating and operating successful businesses like New Mexico Sports & Wellness, I have enjoyed this exciting endeavor. What I loved most about developing businesses was creating strong teams of skilled individuals. Through experiential learning at Manzano Mountain, we will help you sharpen and refine your team’s skills by creating an environment where team members grow to admire and respect each other.”
Scott Garrett, Founder
Manzano Mountain Retreat
The Manzano Mountain Retreat Team
Scott Garrett and his family are the owners of Manzano Mountain Retreat. Scott is most known in the Albuquerque business area for his and his brother’s development of the New Mexico Sports and Wellness chain of recreational clubs. The clubs served over 25,000 members through 5 locations. In 1998 the Garretts sold the chain to Wellbridge, a national operator of sports and health clubs. Scott and his brother still own a recreational club in Ventura, California.
Scott is active in other local businesses: he has sold over 150 homes in the area, owns and manages shopping centers, and dabbles in a few other enterprises. The Garretts understand hospitality and run the Manzano Mountain Retreat with their customer’s needs first.
Scott and his wife Pam have three grown sons. Scott’s contributions to his community have been recognized in local media, including a spot on the cover of the New Mexico Business Journal. Visitors to the Manzano Mountain Retreat can easily see Scott’s love of the outdoors and his aptitude for creating successful customer-focused organizations.
