How to Go From the City Life to the Country Life

“It takes a while to get used to restaurants closing by 8 and no Targets within a ten-minute drive."

Hi! If you are new to Manzano Mountain Retreat, welcome! If you have come here before, we can’t wait to show you what’s changed.

Speaking of change…

If you didn’t know yet, Manzano Mountain Retreat is now owned by the Dudley, Gemmer, & Crabtree Family. We took over in December and haven’t looked back!

While some of us lived in the Mountains already — Edgewood & Escobosa — others were far more used to the Albuquerque city lifestyle. Others being Me - Noelle — one of the new owners and your main writer for our blog! While I grew up in a small town, after living in Albuquerque for most of my adulthood I was hesitant to move to the mountains where access to common comforts were missing — going to Target, frequenting restaurants at 8pm, and going to get coffee at my favorite local joints (Little Bear, anyone?).

I don’t know the answer on how to get comfortable with moving from the city to country yet. So far it’s about jumping in with your eyes closed and hoping you don’t land in Highland Cow poop. Well, honestly, even if you do, it’s not that bad. I’ll write soon about our new Highlands. You won’t want to miss them.

Stay tuned for more blog posts documenting our journey in taking over this beautiful piece of property. Will it be a lot of work? Yes it will. Will it be completely worth it? Absolutely.

Want to see what’s changed firsthand? Come join us for your next retreat or event! Look out for announcements of upcoming events. Book a cabin and find out why we couldn’t walk away from this opportunity.
